It’s that time of year again where we start reflecting on the past months and prepare for the festive season.
Make a good and honest inventory of what went well and what could or should be improved. Bring all your shortcomings to the Mercy Seat, repent and request the Lord to help you to let go of them and start doing the right thing(s) going forward.
Have a blessed Advent period.
A new year, with new victories to be celebrated, opportunities to be explore, challenges to be faced and battles to be fought. Every year we get to face the good, the bad and the ugly. It is not as much the events/circumstances themselves that we should focus on, but rather how we deal with them. …
may the Light of the world be your Guard and Lead
1 John 1:5-7 (NLT)
Living in the Light
This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
John 8:12 (NLT)
Jesus, the Light of the World
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
May 5th is the official Liberation Day celebrated throughout the Netherlands, even though for many of it’s subjects, WWII did not end on May 5th 1945. And even though WWII officially came to an end on August 15th, many were to suffer yet many more years before they could start to live life in freedom. …
But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man.Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. – 1 Corinthians 15:20-22
1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)
Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Luke 24:6-7 (NIV)
He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’”
Mark 10:32-34 (NIV)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time
10:32-34pp — Mt 20:17-19; Lk 18:31-33
They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to him. “We are going up to Jerusalem,” he said, “and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.”
