Merry Christmas

Jesus is the reason for the season

People celebrate Christmas as the feast of light, the days getting longer again, on their way to Spring and Summer. Little do they know, let alone realise, that the true Light is to be found in Jesus Christ, the Light that came into the world to save mankind and reconcile them with God.

There’s no other name than Jesus by which man can obtain true salvation and peace!

In your Christmas Celebrations, whether alone or with others, bear in mind the true reason for this festive season: God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (Jhn 3:16 NIV)

Endurance

1 Peter 1:6-7 (NLT)
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Spirit led

Psalms 37:23-24 (NLT)
The LORD directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the LORD holds them by the hand.

Easter

In this special time amidst a pandemic crisis rocking many off their feet, it is a great assurance to know that there is an Anchor to hold on to. This Anchor goes by the Name above all names: Jesus, the Christ. He was crucified, burried and rose on the third day, to live forevermore. Put your trust in Him and He shall not foresake you.

Put Your Hope in the Lord

Psalms 33:16-22 (NLT)
The best-equipped army cannot save a king,
nor is great strength enough to save a warrior.
Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory—
for all its strength, it cannot save you.
But the LORD watches over those who fear him,
those who rely on his unfailing love.
He rescues them from death
and keeps them alive in times of famine.
We put our hope in the LORD.
He is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD,
for our hope is in you alone.

Your Help Comes From The Lord

Psalms 121 (NLT)
A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.
I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.
The LORD himself watches over you!
The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.
The LORD keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.

Living in the Light

1 John 1:5-7 (NLT)
Living in the Light
This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Faith

Following commentary is excerpted from Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible Heb . 11:4-7. Here follow some illustrious examples of faith from the Old Testament. Abel brought a sacrifice of atonement from the firstlings of the flock, acknowledging himself a sinner who deserved to die, and only hoping for mercy through the great …
